Random Saturday cats, knitting, etc.

I have been wrestling with sock knitting the past month and, in an attempt to tell the yarn who’s boss, I’ve decided to ignore it completely and work on this easy cowl. I can’t link the pattern as it’s on Ravelry (you need an account to see it), but trust me when I say it’s going to be simple, yet pretty.

I’ll make prettier pictures with me wearing it when it’s done.

So, I have this cute kitty living with me now. This means I am at the maximum capacity for two cats in apartment. They are in the midst of getting used to each other the only way cats know how: hissing, chasing, and batting each other occasionally. Sigh.

Oh, Christmas tree…

Merry Christmas, everyone! This year, my family managed to get a real tree… and then we grew so busy, we only managed to place several ornaments on it. It’s still pretty, though.

Now, on to the thing I made. This simple K1P1 scarf is something I finally made for my dad. I bought this luxurious Bouton D’or Ksar wool/baby camel blend a long time ago. It just wasn’t working with me, though, and after many failed attempts I managed to make him this. It’s simple, practical, and warm. He’ll use it while he’s at work and while he’s on his motorcycle.

And, excluding something coming in the mail from my sweetie, this is my main haul for today. A new, sturdy sewing machine (the one I had barely worked, and that was only after my parents fixed it), a nice ceramic cup with a cozy, and a necklace that my mom made for me. I did really well this year, methinks. christmas

I hope everyone’s Christmas was enjoyable and safe. I hope you all were able to give the gifts and receive the things you wanted.
