I have some things to show you. I found it compelling to document my garments in queue yesterday. I managed to step out into the light of day and enjoy an outing with my gentleman caller.
Make-Up: MAC Studio Fix, MAC fluidline blacktrack eyeliner, MAC Ruby Woo lip stick, SugarPill eye shadow (Christmas gift from Lys), Clinique black eye shadow Clothes: Jumping Jay velvet dress from goth swap, Bodyline waist cincher, Express tights Accessories: Forever 21 headband, new necklace from Mom Shoes: Forever 21 booties
Oh, Thursday. This necklace that my mother made for me is divine. It is a carved cameo pendant, set into some type of metal, anchored to a string of jade beads. Simple. Elegant. And in wonderful color.
And, Thursday, I have to tell you about these shoes. I bought them not long ago, and today was my first day out with them. They are darling, don’t you agree?
And then, during my visit at home over this winter holiday, I decided to have some fun with my camera. I found this cat delightful. Her name is Dusty, and she’s a roley-poley sort. She is small, compared to the black feline I house, but she is adorable all the same.
Thursday, I have something to tell you. I came upon the need to acquire film of a larger nature. I procured something, something interesting.
I have been given the rare opportunity to play with this film camera. It’s manufacturer is reputable. The camera has a queer, obscure shape and yet it performs beautifully. I will enjoy this experiment, I think.
My dear Thursday, I suppose I shan’t see you again until next week. However, I hope you enjoyed our correspondence. Salut.
Blood Spatter Manicure – Jillian Venters presents a spooky spin for nails. Perfect for Halloween which is right around the corner!
Blackberry PlayBook – I’m intrigued. But as with any of these tablets, will it have appeal to the design market, so that there will be art apps created for it? I ask myself that question with every big name tablet that comes out.
Why Can’t Middle-Aged Women Have Long Hair? – An amazing article about a woman in her 50s who refuses to cut her hair off. Considering I love the way older women look with longer hair, I guess I’m one of the weird few who don’t find this a minor taboo. And, considering I’m growing my hair out? She makes some lovely points.
I’m OK. – An article that shoots home a point that is being shouted by more and more women–”all women are real women”. Deliberately uninformed, relentlessly so – A rant about those who willingly keep themselves uninformed in an age where being informed should be standard. Sidenote: I watch very little TV in comparison to the rest of the nation. I have my few TV shows, but otherwise my TV is off.
Disclaimer: I find my links from other blogs, from friends, from twitter, facebook, etc. Sometimes I come across it on my own. If I gave credit to everyone I found links from, I’d probably have very little link on this link list. So, credit to you, bloggers and friends, who find these links and enable me to continue to share them.
Several serious links, nerdy links, and girly links this week.

Graphene Will Change the Way We Live: Fascinating stuff! It will only begin to be implemented by the time I’m old and wrinkly, but the implications are grand.
Gala Darling: One of the more popular blogs I’ve run across. She gives sound advice and consistently tries to please her readers. Inspiring, really. I purchased her year’s work of podcasts.
Neocon Like Me: An amazing article on ridiculous spending on the American University in Iraq and the gross incompetence of many of the people working there. Why is it still there?
These things are *nice*. And Amazon.com has an amazing price for them. I had to purchase a 1/8 (3.5mm jack) to 1/4 stereo adapter, but that was chump change in comparison. I know these things are for mixing, recording, and monitoring. But they’re amazing for personal playback (listening to your CDs), too. And, now I have a pair of professional studio headphones, if I ever decide to tinker around with music production. These only come to work with me or they stay at home.
The sound is crystal clear. As my boyfriend described it, it’s like being at a concert. These headphones are very balanced. They allow the listener to hear the music how the artist originally intended it, and are comfortable enough for long term wear. They also produce a lot of sound at lower volumes, so there is no risk of hearing loss or deprivation of music enjoyment.
The only thing I’d possibly do now is customize it so it’s artsy and unique. I don’t even know where to begin, though. Any ideas?
